Upstairs Neighbor by Daijana Wallace (2019)
Upstairs Neighbor “is a short story that depicts a night of me trying to go to sleep with a very stompy neighbor. It starts with a nice country-bluegrass style melody (cellist) that gets interrupted in a peaceful slumber by a stomping upstairs neighbor (vibraphonist). As the melody continues, the cellist becomes more agitated, eventually breaking out into a fast paced groove with a really heavy freely measured solo. Afterwards the cellist and vibraphonist return to finish the melody and usher in a peaceful slumber together.” – Daijana Wallace
